- 1 ½ pounds grass-fed lean ground beef $0.99 x 1.5 = $1.35
- 4 onion rings $0.28
- 4 slices of Cheddar cheese $1,78
- 2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce $0.12
- 12 clove garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 2 teaspoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon crushed dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano Total herbs cost ($1.27)
- 1 large plain yogurt ($1.10)
- 3 oz Radicchio salad ($0.78)
- 2 oz Green salad ($0.56)
- salt and pepper to taste ($0.06)
Total cost for 4 burgers: $8.32 ($2.08 each)
Steps
- Step 1
In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, parsley, basil, oregano, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties. - Step 2
- Mix Avocado, salsa, and yogurt
- Step 3
- The burgers are sautéed first in a pan 5 minutes, then wrapped in silver foil and finished in the oven at 400o. This keeps the meat juicy.
- Step 4
At the final add the salad and the onion ring. To top each burger with a slice of cheese and an onion ring. Spread each bun with the avocado mix. Serve
Chef’s tips: The meat was bought at Ralph’s it was on sale at $0.99 a pound. The ground beef bought in-store has to be cooked well done to avoid any problem.
