Lucrece Borgia, probably one of the celebrated, and controversial women of all time.
She was born in 1480, the legitimate daughter of Pope Alexander VI. She married 3 times; the first at the age of 13. Her third wedding Alphonse d’Este, duke of Ferrara. Lucrece was well loved by her subjects. She surrounded herself with poets, especially with Pietro Bembo, a humanist poet who, as soon as he saw her, was stunned by her beauty and her long blond hair he fell in love with her.

Lucrece Borgia had the reputation of being beautiful, with an easy virtue, and of being pitiless as she did away with her lovers through poisoning. Her notority has spread through centuries to be immortalized
